MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. (Take 30 News)-- The study abroad committee hosts its annual study abroad fair to bring focus to many program options around the country in which college students can partake in for academic credit. Representatives explain how these options are beneficial.
Representatives from across the country came to set up and explain the opportunities of studying abroad.
"The study abroad program can be extremely beneficial for college students because number 1 you can have international experience guided by professor you know they can take you places you've never experienced", said Korean Rep. Soyoun Lin.
Other representatives also break down the options and opportunities college students can obtain in this program.
"We have exchange opportunities that last longer and we have faculty lead programs so maybe go with a favorite professor and you can go for a couple of weeks with them and we also have provider companies that you can go on a study abroad with and benefits of study abroad you get to explore a whole new culture that you would never get staying here", said Mallory Aldridge
College students share their thoughts about their studying abroad experience and how it benefited them.
"I climbed on a 9 mile hike up Sweden i enjoyed the food there and it was a very great and adventurous experience", said former abroad student, Jade Anderson.
The study abroad committee hope to increase the number of college students studying abroad, which will allow students to explore the culture in the program they choose, while receiving academic credit towards their major.
