GIDEON, Mo. (Take 30 News) ---During the COVID-19 Pandemic, people everywhere are practicing social distancing. with these precautions come different challenges. Local churches across this nation are taking precautions to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. First Baptist Church in Gideon is adapting in a way they didn’t think they ever would.

“We’re telecasting the sermon so we can keep everybody at home and safe and hopefully and prayerfully we’ll get through this with the rest of the people in the state,”  Toby Jordan, deacon at First Baptist Church Gideon, said. The church uses Facebook Live for Sunday services and Bible Study.

The church used Zoom to connect to the nursing home across town due to the residents being quarantined during this crisis.

President Trump has moved the time for social distancing to April 30th at the earliest. First Baptist Gideon’s Senior Pastor, Paul Karrati says he is hopeful the virus gets taken care of so that the church can get together again.
