MIAMI, Fl (Take 30 News)- - Numerous employees are finding themselves in troubling times due to COVID-19.

Around 3.2 million Americans have filed for unemployment since the Coronavirus outbreak. Many people fear with the number increasing, COVID-19 will surpass the Great Depression.

Florida resident, Jamice Turner was a full-time employee for Southwest Airlines and a part-time employee for Home Goods. With many people not traveling currently and stores closing, Turner has found herself in a tough situation.

“The coronavirus has affected me in several ways, my full-time job, the hours have been cut. My part time job that has actually closed down and now I'm at home more,” Turner said.

Even though COVID-19 has put a pause on people’s everyday activity. Turner is taking this time to work on projects that she never had time to do before.

“During this time in quarantine, with COVID-19 has been beneficial for me, I am taking this time to work on a business proposal that I couldn't do before. I'm able to reassess my workouts and spend more time with my inner self but I am hoping to go back to work in safe conditions,” Turner said.

Although this is the time for everyone to work on projects that they are passionate about or find new hobbies, Turner and many other Americans are ready to get back to their daily lifestyle.

"I am hoping this will be over soon, but I don't want to rush it. I want to be able to go back out in society and not worry about my health. So as long as it takes to assure me that when I walk out I'll be healthy, is when I want it to be over,” Turner said.
