COLUMBUS, Miss. (TAKE 30 News)-COVID-19 has many places closing their doors.
Restaurants, businesses, and even some churches.
With the fear surrounding COVID-19, many places including churches have been forced to close their doors. Some have moved their services online, but others have gotten creative with how they hold service.
The sounds of singing, laughter, and horns honking filled the parking lot of the Assembly church in Columbus on Sunday Morning.
They are holding Sunday Drive-In Service.
While sitting in the parking lot you can either roll your window down, listen on the radio, or watch their live stream.
This is their second-week holding drive-in service and member for two years Brad Williams says that these past two weeks have been very enjoyable.
"Last week was a phenomenal experience. It was amazing to know that even though you've got something that's kind of shut us down that you can't, even though the doors are locked, you know we're the body we're still out here, we're still worshiping it was definitely an amazing experience," Williams said.
Pastor of the church Jody Gurley says that last even though they are in unique circumstances he is still happy that so many people come to worship with them.
"Our people love it our people love the fact that even though we're not as in close proximity like we would be in Church they'd till get to see one another and wave at each other and toot the horns, so last week was a lot of fun especially whenever they were responding to me while I was preaching with the horns and stuff," Gurley said.
The Church is prepared to hold their drive-in services all the way up until Mother’s Day.
Services are held every Sunday at 10:45.
