STARKVILLE, Miss (Take 30 News)---In January of 2019 the CROWN Act, which stands for Creating a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair, was signed into law in California.
This comes a year after Andrew Johnson was forced to cut his hair to compete in the state wrestling meet and less than two months after Deandre Arnold was told he could not walk for graduation unless he cut his dreads.
Mississippi has no explicit laws for discrimination based on hair.
