STARKVILLE, MS (Take 30 News) --- The Mississippi State University Library hosts the 14th Annual Charles H. Templeton Ragtime and Jazz Festival with Gatsby Gala. The festival is bringing a taste of the late 19th and early 20th centuries sound to campus.

The festival will consist of a fashion show that is inspired by the 1920s apparel. The clothes are designed by students from the MSU School of Human Sciences fashion, design, and merchandise. MSU Fashion Board members will be modeling the styles in the fashion show.

Stephen Cunetto is the MSU Associate Dean of Libraries.

“We’re very excited to be hosting the 14th Annual Charles Templeton Ragtime and Jazz Festival. We’re very excited about the performers we have this year,” Cunetto said.

The performers for the festival will be Blind Boy Paxton, Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi, Bill Edwards and Jeff Barnhart.

The MSU Music Department will also choose one student to perform at the auditorium for the Keyone Docher Award. The award is named after Docher who performed at the 2014 Templeton Festival. Docher passed away in 2014.

This year’s recipient is Daniel Rorabaugh.
